Your Questions, Answered

Here you will find a list of some of the most commonly asked questions. If your question is not among them, just contact me using the Contact Form.

Do you need a deposit for a function and when is the balance due?

We normally take a £50.00 deposit to secure a date

The balance can then be paid by cheque or BACS no latter than two weeks before the event.

What insurance to you carry?

We have £10,000,000 of public liability insurance, which is more than is required by most venues.

Our equipment is PAT tested yearly and visually checked each time we set the equipment up

Will I get a written Contract?

We insist on having a fully binding legal contract between both parties. That way no one is left in any doubt as to what services will be provided by us, and what we expect you to pay in return for those services.

What areas do you cover?

We are based just outside Portsmouth in Hampshire on the South Coast of England, but having said that we are more than happy to travel and have been to many of the major towns and cities in the South of England, so why not ask?

Can I give you a playlist for the whole evening?

Yes.

All I ask is that I can put it in an order that I feel works.

Do you take requests?

We are more than happy to take requests from you and your guests during your event, and providing they are not on your "Don't Play" list, we will fit them around the tracks in your playlist.

What backup systems have you got?

We always carry a spare set of CD decks, mixer, speakers and an amp, just in case. 

We also carry spare bulbs, fuses and cables.

Our van is regularly serviced and we are covered for breakdown by both RAC and AA

So short of a power cut we should be able to fulfill our commitment to you.

Do you do karaoke?

Sorry but we are purely a mobile disco and do not carry equipment for Karaoke. We can however play lots of songs that everyone can sing along to!

How will the DJ dress?

For weddings and other formal occasions we prefer to wear suits or, if requested, dinner jacket and bow tie!

For less formal occasions it would normally be suit or smart trousers and shirt.

We only ever wear jeans when we set the equipment up at the start of the evening and take it down again!

Do you charge extra for setting up and how long does this take?

In the majority of cases our price quoted includes all set up and take down, the only exception to this would be if you need us to set up earlier in the day and your venue is more than 30 minutes drive from our home address. In this case a small additional fee would be applicable to cover our time and fuel.

It normally takes between 35 and 45 minutes to set up the standard set of equipment that we use for most events, this can be a little longer if we have to set up additional equipment or hired in items!

What happens if you are taken ill on the day of our wedding/party?

We have never been in this position and hope that it will never happen, but if the worst were to happen we have two backup plans.

We are members of the alliance of mobile and party DJ's, and as part of this we have insurance that means they will find a suitable DJ to cover your event, should an emergency occur.

If this were to fail, and we don't see how, we know hundreds of DJ's and Agencies that will be able to help us out for your special day.

How far in advance do I need to book?

No Date is too soon or too late! Providing we are available we can be with you in a matter of hours, but in most cases couples tend to book their entertainment between 12 and 24 months before the big day.

You may think that this is way too far in advance, but remember there is only one of us, so if you want the service we provide, book as soon as you are able, because once we are booked there is no way of splitting ourselves in two!

How much room do you need?

We can adapt our set up to anything from a small pub setting to a large stage. We know most of the main venues, so know what to bring, those that we have not visited before we make sure we visit so there is never a problem.
