Frequently Asked Questions

Do you need a deposit for a function and when is the balance due?
 
We usually require a small deposit when you return the contracts. The balance is paid on the night of the event.
 
What back up systems do you have?
 
We always carry a spare set of CD decks, speakers and an amp, just in case. Also spare bulbs and fuses. So short of a power cut we should still be able to fulfill our commitment to you.
 
Will I get a written contract?
 
We insist on having a fully binding legal contract between both parties. That way no one is left in any doubt as to what their money will get them and what you expect us to provide for your event.
 
How far in advance do I need to book?
 
No date is too soon or too late. Providing we are free, we can be there for you within a matter of hours, but please bear in mind that we do get booked up very quickly, and being only us and not a agency we can't be in two places at once.
 
Do you charge for setting up and taking down, and how long will this take.
 
No. Our price quoted includes this. Set up takes between 40 and 90 minutes depending on the amount of equipment we need to use for each particular venue.
 
How will the DJ dress?
 
For weddings and formal occasions we prefer to wear suits. Birthdays would be smart trousers and shirt. Never jeans!
 
Do you do Karaoke?
 
Sorry but we are purely a mobile disco and do not carry equipment for Karaoke.
 
Do you play requests?
 
At Eclipse Mobile Disco we believe your event should be just that. We put out request slips for both you and your guests to use. We also make a point of finding out exactly what you want and don't want to be played well in advance of your event. You call the tunes.
 
If it's a wedding we at least need to know your choice of first dance; there is nothing more embarassing than a DJ who has not got your special song! After that you can have as little or as much input to the play list as you want.
 
Which areas do you cover?
 
We are based just outside Portsmouth in Hampshire but have travelled far and wide, so why not ask us.
 
How much room do you need?
 
We can tailor our set up to most venues but as a rough guide an area of about 3M X 4M should be plenty. It is also helpful to have two 13amp mains sockets within 10M of the area you want us to set up in.
